RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.
It's a new technology standard that enables an online publisher (individual, corporate, media, etc.) to broadcast content to the Internet in "feeds."
People elect to subscribe to whichever feeds they choose. Feeds can be viewed individually or all at once using one or more different RSS readers, or news aggregators. RSS readers include high-end dedicated software applications, mobile devices and increasingly sophisticated web based applications.
No matter which reader you use to collect feeds, you benefit by being alerted to new content from your favorite sources as soon as it hits the web. Further, your feeds are aggregated together onto one page. No need to travel across the web to get the custom information you desire.
